چکیده

Abstract: As a result of the continuing evolution of z/Series processors, anever wideninggap has developed between the minimum size of IBM’s entry level processors and the MIPS requirements of small z/OS software developers as well as the thousands of VSE and VM installations. This paper explores the architecture of the FLEX-ES product from Fundamental Software Incorporated (FSI) as delivered in the iDev member of Cornerstone Systems’ iFrame product family. Specific attention will be paid to the evaluation of the performance provided by the FLEX-ES I/O subsystem.

Performance Characteristics of Intel Architecture — based Servers

Computing clusters built from standard components using Intel® processors are becoming the fastest growing choice for high-performance computing (HPC). Twice yearly, the 500 most powerful computing systems in the world are ranked on the TOP500 Supercomputer Sites Web page. In November 2002, the ranking listed 56 entries using Intel processors; by June 2003, that number reached 119. Today, three...

Introduction: Stem cell biology has been the subject of much recent discussion. Embryonic stem (ES) cells, derived from the inner cell mass of the blastocyst stage of early mammalian embryos are expected to become a powerful tool in future regenerative medicine and developmental biology due to their capacity of self-renewal and pluripotency. In the present study, the ultrastructural development...

Ethernet continues to be the most widely used network architecture today for its low cost and backward compatibility with the existing Ethernet infrastructure. Driven by increasing networking demands of cloud workloads, network speed rapidly migrates from 1Gbps to 10Gbps and beyond. Ethernet's ubiquity and its continuously increasing rate motivate us to fully understand high speed network proce...

Experience with the Development of a Microkernel-Based, Multi-Server Operating System

During the first half of the 1990s IBM developed a set of operating system products called Worhplace OS that was bused on the Mach 3.0 microkernel and Taligent’s object-oriented TalOS. These products were intended to be scalable, portable and capable of concurrently running multiple operating system personalities while sharing as much code as possible. The operating system personalities were co...

A Real-time Motion Tracking Wireless System for Upper Limb Exosuit Based on Inertial Measurement Units and Flex Sensors (TECHNICAL NOTE)

This paper puts forward a real-time angular tracking (motion capture) system for a low cost upper limb exosuit based on sensor fusion; which is integrated by an elastic sleeve-mitten, two inertial measurement units (IMU), two flex sensors and a wireless communication system. The device can accurately detect the angular position of the shoulder (flexion-extension, abduction-adduction and interna...
